We begin with premium Mild Steel (IS 2062) solid round bars. Unlike cheap stamped hinges that flex under weight, machining from solid bar stock guarantees the hinge will not deform when supporting massive electrical panel doors.
The steel bars are processed in our automated Traub machines. The male half (the pin) and the female half (the barrel) are turned simultaneously. We strictly enforce a ±0.05mm tolerance so the pin slides smoothly into the barrel without excessive play.
If the client requires a "bolt-on" lift-off hinge, the machined barrels are transferred to our welding stations. Here, pre-drilled mild steel leaves (flaps) are precision-welded to the barrels using high-penetration CO2 welding for maximum shear strength.
To prevent steel-on-steel friction which causes squeaking and rapid wear, a low-friction thrust washer (usually brass, SS, or engineered polymer) is seated between the two halves. This guarantees silent, buttery-smooth door operation.
The assembled hinges undergo chemical cleaning to remove machining oils, followed by an electrostatic powder coating process. They are baked in an industrial oven, curing the powder into a thick, chip-resistant armor that matches industrial enclosure aesthetics.
